How Cross-Play Works
Palia runs on shared servers — every player, regardless of platform, plays in the same world. When you're at Fisherman's Lagoon on PC, the Switch players next to you are on the same server. There is no platform separation and no opt-out from cross-play.
You can add friends across platforms using their Palia username (not a platform-specific ID). Friend lists are account-based, not platform-based.
How Cross-Save Works
Your Palia progress is saved to your Singularity 6 (S6) account, not to any specific device or platform. This means:
- Log into your S6 account on PC → your Switch progress is fully there
- Your skills, plot, friendship, inventory, gift codes redeemed, and quest progress all carry over
- You can own multiple platform copies of Palia (all free) and use the same account on all of them
When you first play Palia, create a Singularity 6 account rather than using a platform login (like Steam or Nintendo). Linking to an S6 account ensures cross-save works no matter which platform you switch to later.
Controller Support on PC
PC versions of Palia fully support controllers. The game auto-detects gamepad input:
- Xbox controllers — plug and play via USB or Bluetooth
- PlayStation controllers (DualShock/DualSense) — supported natively on Steam; may need Steam Input on Epic
- Nintendo Pro Controller — supported via Steam Input
- The game UI switches between keyboard/mouse and controller prompts automatically
