Main Story Quests
The main story is driven by Jina, the village scholar. Her questline explores the mystery of the Majiri civilisation and gradually opens the game world as you progress. Key beats include:
- Prologue — arrival in Kilima, introduction to the village and basic mechanics
- The Ancient Question — Jina's first questline investigating Majiri ruins in Kilima Valley
- Bahari Unlocked — story progression that opens travel to Bahari Bay (the second area)
- Ancient History — the main arc involving Flow energy, the Majiri's fate, and the player character's mysterious origins
You unlock Bahari Bay by completing Jina's early questline. Don't skip story quests — the second area has significantly better resources and more villagers.
Friendship Quests
Every villager has 1–3 unique friendship quests that trigger as you reach friendship thresholds. These are some of the best storytelling in the game:
- Heart 1 quest — an introduction to the villager's backstory and current life
- Heart 2 quest — a deeper problem or conflict the villager is facing
- Heart 3 quest — the turning point; usually involves the player actively helping
- Heart 4 quest — resolution; the richest rewards and most personal dialogue
Friendship quests reward unique items, recipes, blueprints, or Renown. For romanceable villagers, the Heart 4 quest is how you enter a relationship.
Guild Quests
Each guild leader has a short questline that introduces their skill and unlocks key tools:
- Einar — grants your first fishing rod and teaches casting and bait
- Badruu — gives your watering can and first crop seeds
- Hodari — grants your first pickaxe and explains ore types
- Hassian — gives your bow and teaches animal tracking
- Ashura — provides foraging basics and tool upgrade path
- Tish — unlocks the Worktable and basic furniture crafting
- Reth — gives your Campfire recipe and first cooking basics
Daily Requests
The Request Board near the village center posts fresh tasks every day at the daily reset (UTC 04:00). Each request asks you to deliver a specific item or complete a task, rewarding gold and skill XP. Tips:
- Check the board first thing each day — some high-value requests are taken quickly by other players
- Accept requests you can fulfil with items already in your inventory
- Weekly requests offer significantly better rewards — prioritize these
- Completing requests also contributes to the community board challenge for bonus rewards
Quest Tracking
Open the Quest Journal (Q key on PC, menu button on console) to see all active quests, their objectives, and progress. You can pin up to 3 quests to display objectives on your HUD at all times. Completed quests are archived in the journal's history tab.
