The Shared World

Palia is a shared-world MMO. When you enter Kilima Valley or Bahari Bay, you're on a shared server with many other players. You'll see other players moving around, fishing at the same spots, and working their own plots.

There is no PvP (player vs. player) in Palia. The game is entirely cooperative and social. You can't harm other players or take their resources.

Co-op Activities & Bonuses

Many activities give bonus XP or resources when done near other players:

Visiting Friends' Plots

You can visit any player's homeplot from the village area. Just approach their plot entrance and enter. When visiting someone's plot you can:

  • See all their furniture and decorations
  • Use their shared crafting stations (if they've enabled it)
  • Leave a comment/like on their plot design
  • Harvest their crops if they invite you to help

Social Features

  • Party system: Form a party of up to 8 players to get grouped XP bonuses.
  • In-game chat: Area, party, and direct message channels.
  • Emotes: Wave, dance, sit, and more. Use them to communicate without text.
  • Friend list: Add players to your friend list to see when they're online and find their plots easily.
  • Guild/Household system: Form persistent groups with shared housing areas (coming/expanded in future updates).

Multiplayer Tips

  • Share Palium locations in chat. Community culture in Palia strongly encourages sharing Palium node locations. Announcing "Palium at [location]" is standard etiquette.
  • Fish near others. The co-op XP bonus from nearby fishers is free โ€” seek out spots where other players are already fishing.
  • Visit plots for inspiration. Community members build incredible homes. Visiting others is one of the best ways to get design ideas.
  • Join a party for hunts. Group hunting the rare Muujin is much more efficient and more fun.
